Steven universe is a new popular kid cartoon. You may be asking, why a cartoon character? Well, it's because of the issues this show deals with. Steven is a relatable character. He is childish, sweet, caring, but he doesn't always make the right choice. He has doubts, and he always wants to be his best....and he loves food. Everyone can take a piece of him. When we get serious, he represents greater things. He deals with abusive relationships, his mother dying at birth, learning his powers, trying to be as good as others, dealing with death, feeling like everything is his fault...ect He is the best character due to his relatablity, and his flaws. Having a perfect character sucks. He is the new. He has awesome powers like a shield, healing, floating, and who knows what else. Its amazing cause as he learns about himself, so do you. He came from the best--the rebellion leader-she died so he could live. Now he is forced to live up to her, and he is always reminded he took her away from everyone. Character have even told him that they wish she was here instead of him. I's awful, but he copes. He is sweet, he tries to help others, he is what we all wanna be, and all our insecurities. Steven is funny, he loves puns, and so much more. Steven makes his own choices, he doesn't like what his mom do make him who he is. He fights to be better than her.

admittedly this blog post made me contemplate heavily against my own character and I commend heather for that
ReplyDeleteAs a Steven Universe fan, it was so hard to pick between Spider man and Steven Universe. They are both dynamic and it is totally a buzzer. I think I would have to chose Steven Universe because he is developing new powers all the time and generally making himself better AND he is dynamic! I appreciate that, every step of the way.
ReplyDeleteAgainst superman, Universe seems to have little of a chance, but he still has a broader scale of influence and has a much more modern story, making him the victor
ReplyDeleteI had some familiarity with this character, but after reading your description about him, I feel like I have a better sense of who he is. It was hard for me to pick between Superman and Steven because of how well you summed him up.
ReplyDeleteUltimately I picked Master chief. Not because I have a bias towards my own character but because I feel like sometimes like Steven´s methods are not completely realistic, like they don´t represent what exactly goes on in today´s society. Not to say that this show doesn´t do a good job discussing present day topics because it most certainly does but on some of them they don´t exactly hit home.
ReplyDeleteI had trouble choosing between Steven Universe and Captain Falcon. In the end, I chose Steven, because he's a deeper character in terms of backstory, and Captain Falcon doesn't seemed to have a story to him.
